Laundry Room Safety

Dryers are one of those appliances that we often take for granted in our home, unless they aren’t working properly. If you notice clothes or towels are taking longer than usual to dry, it may be time for some preventative maintenance to remove dust and lint that can be trapped in the vent system or back of the dryer.

Clothes dryers should be regularly maintained and vent systems should be checked to be sure that ventilation is adequate. Cleaning ducts every six months is a good rule of thumb. And always turn off the dryer before you leave your home, even if you are just taking a quick walk around the block to walk your dog.
