Tower Hill Employees Give Back Through Roadside Cleanups 

Giving back to the communities we call home has long been an important part of the Tower Hill culture. Sometimes that means collecting school supplies, supporting local organizations or volunteering at community events. Other times, it means grabbing a trash bag, putting on a safety vest and heading outside!

For years, Tower Hill employees have volunteered their time to help keep a local stretch of Tower Road clean through Alachua County’s Adopt-A-Road program. Through quarterly cleanup events, employees from across the company come together to help keep our community beautiful while making a positive impact close to home.

Taking Care of the Road We Call Home

Our roadside cleanup efforts take place along Tower Road near Kanapaha Veterans Memorial Park in Gainesville, FL. Several times throughout the year, employees from across the company come together to walk the roadside, collect litter and leave the area looking better than they found it.

And there’s usually plenty to find.

From bottles and wrappers to the occasional piece of “mystery debris,” volunteers never know exactly what they’ll encounter. Every cleanup serves as a reminder of how small actions can help protect and improve shared community spaces. 

During one cleanup, employees representing Accounting, Actuarial, Commercial, and Claims braved the Florida heat and collected more than 10 bags of trash along Tower Road.

Small Effort, Big Impact

Roadside litter is an ongoing challenge in our community. Alachua County encourages residents and organizations to get involved in litter-control efforts through its Adopt-A-Road program, helping supplement the work already being done to maintain local roads.

For Tower Hill employees, these cleanup days are an opportunity to make a difference right in our own backyard. They also bring together coworkers who may not interact every day, giving teams a chance to step away from their desks and work toward a shared goal.

Many employees say the cleanup events are a rewarding way to give back while connecting with colleagues outside the office. The shared effort reinforces company values and strengthens relationships across departments.
